Reno, Nevada — BYU hung tough for most of the game, but 7th-ranked Nevada was too much at the end as BYU fell to the Wolfpack 86-70.
After BYU fell behind 9-0 early, Nevada preseason All-American Caleb Martin went to the bench early with two fouls allowing BYU to go into the half tied 34-34. BYU kept it within 4 points for most of the second half until Nevada pulled away in the final 5 minutes for the final margin.
Jahshire Hardnett led BYU with 17 points and Yoeli Childs was plagued with second half foul trouble to finish with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
