BYU overcame a 7-point halftime deficit, but the Cougars faltered late as San Diego State ended the game on a 11-2 run to beat BYU 76-71 Saturday afternoon in Provo.
BYU went on a 21-3 second half run to open things up, but San Diego State’s length and size advantage were ultimately too much to overcome. The Aztecs out-rebounded BYU 43-27 and hit some clutch threes late to put away the Cougars.
Jake Toolson had a nice game for BYU, finishing with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. TJ Haws had his moments with 6 assists and 13 points, but he didn’t come up in some key moments when BYU really needed him.
