They made a tournament-record 16 3-pointers.
"The main thing is we wanted [Davis] in the low post," Rose said. "And when [Kaufusi] plays, he only knows the [five] position. Nate can play them both. So we put Nate at the four, KD at the five, and that let KD get a couple low-post catches early and got us going."
Austin wasn't a huge factor, playing only 13 minutes and grabbing four rebounds without scoring. But he provided energy early that was lacking in Tuesday's 85-82 overtime loss to Harvard.
"Nate's energy was contagious," Rose said.
Jamal Aytes, still nursing a sore ankle, also gave the Cougars a lift off the bench.
