Eric Mika led four Cougars in double figures with 18 points as BYU cruised to an 96-59 victory over Coppin State on Thursday at the Marriott Center.
The Cougars (2-0) took a commanding 20-5 lead early in the game and led 48-32 at the half. An 11-0 run to start the second half salted away the BYU win.
Mika scored seven of the Cougars 11 points to start the second half and added five rebounds. T.J. Haws scored eight points early and finished with 11, to go with five rebounds, while Nick Emery had 13 points and three assists and Elijah Bryant added 11 points and seven rebounds.
