BYU basketball, thanks to more stellar play from Yoeli Childs, defeated the Westminster Griffins 76-62 in an exhibition game. With the win, the Cougars are 2-0 in preseason play.
Childs carried BYU basketball (which looks like it may be a trend for this season) against the Griffins, scoring 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting) and grabbing 14 rebounds.
The Griffins made a bit of a charge in the second half, cutting BYU’s lead to 11, but the Cougars’ lead never really felt at risk.
It was surprising to see the Cougars not crack the century mark against Westminster, but in some ways a win like this is almost more impressive.
