BYU basketball has its first 2018 commitment.
Timpview High School (UT) guard Hunter Erickson has committed to Dave Rose and the Cougars. Erickson chose Provo over offers from Utah, UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Erickson averaged 22 points per game last season at Timpview. According to 247Sports, Erickson is the No. 5 player in the state.
Erickson announced his commitment via Twitter on Wednesday morning.
Watching his film, it’s pretty clear to see that Erickson is a top-notch athlete. Over the summer, Erickson played against Bol Bol. Bol Bol is the son of Manute Bol, and is a consensus top five prospect.
