The first half wasn’t pretty but BYU basketball held a comfortable 34-22 lead.
Then things kicked into overdrive to open the second half and BYU flat-out buried a visiting Nevada squad in a 75-42 win Tuesday night in the Marriott Center.
Jake Toolson opened the second half by hitting a corner 3-pointer, his fourth trey of the night. Then Yoeli Childs, who was scoreless in the first half, scored eight consecutive points inside. It was suddenly a 45-24 game and the Cougars spent the rest of the half toying with the Wolf Pack.
That half-opening run got as big as 20-4, which made it 54-26 with 13 minutes left.
