PROVO — A year ago, the BYU baseball team claimed a share of the West Coast Conference championship but didn’t receive a berth to the NCAA Regionals.
This season, the Cougars own a 9-9 record as they open WCC play with a three-game series at Loyola Marymount starting Thursday.
BYU coach Mike Littlewood insists that his team’s current record isn’t reflective of his team’s potential.
“This team is (an NCAA) Regional team, there’s no doubt about it. But you can’t talk about it. You have to do it on the field," he said. "My wife reminds me of that every day.
