BOISE — BYU running back Jamaal Williams was sidelined with an ankle injury and the Cougar defense gave up a slew of big plays.
No. 14 Boise State, meanwhile, countered by surrendering five turnovers. But BYU couldn’t fully capitalize.
In the end, the Broncos blocked a 44-yard field goal attempt with 10 seconds remaining and held on to edge the Cougars, 28-27, before a crowd of 34,575 at Albertsons Stadium Thursday night.
