The Salt Lake Bees score a tie-breaking run in the seventh inning and went on to a 9-7 victory over the Sacramento River Cats on Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento.
Taylor Ward led off with a double, advanced to third on a ground out and scored when Kaleb Cowart singled off of the right leg of Sacramento pitcher Steven Okert.
Salt Lake would add an insurance run in the ninth, as Ward doubled, moved to third on a balk and scored on a ground out by Justin Bour. The Bees would need that run, as the River Cats would score one run in the bottom of the ninth, but Jake Jewell struck out Mike Gerber to end the game and record his third save of the season.
