The crisp early spring air of Utah had no effect as I stood on the track burning with emotion and embarrassment. My teammates and I were in the middle of a series of speed intervals, but Coach Patrick Shane had just directed me to step off the track. Ignoring him, I lined back up with my teammates, poised to go again.
