Those planning to ascend to the top of Angels Landing at Zion National Park next week may have to settle for a different hike.
The popular trail will be closed for construction from 6 a.m. on Aug. 20 to 6 a.m. on Aug. 22, according to a news release from the park.
Construction crews will replace posts along the trail that support chain sections, which hikers rely on to climb at narrow sections of the trail and guide them up the steep rock spine.
Scouts Lookout and the West Rim Trail — both accessed from the trailhead that leads to Angels Landing — remain open.
