After four words about BYU, Kyle Whittingham turns the page to Northern Illinois

In his weekly news conference Monday, Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham’s opening statement included four words about his team’s 30-12 win over BYU.

“The rivalry game's over,” Whittingham said. “Time to move on to the next opponent.”

Northern Illinois will visit Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, having gained credibility in Utah’s program via a 17-6 loss to the Utes last September in DeKalb, Ill.

“The main thing that's got our attention is last year, we escaped by the skin of our teeth with a win,” Whittingham said.
