Multiple news outlets are reporting that the Alliance of American Football, which includes the Salt Lake Stallions, will suspend operations Tuesday, perhaps a prelude to the league shutting down altogether.
Sports Illustrated report that AAF officials had scheduled conference call for 11 a.m. MDT in which the league was to begin the process of suspending play with just two weeks left in the regular season.
According to ProFootballTalk, the league is not folding yet, but appears to be trending in that direction.
AAF majority owner Tom Dundon — who also owns the Caroline Hurricanes of the NHL — told USA Today last week that the AAF could end up folding if it could not gain the ability to sign young NFL players by next season.
