GLENDALE, Arizona — BYU is ushering in a new era Saturday, when first-year coach Kalani Sitake leads the Cougars into University of Phoenix Stadium to kick off the season against Pac-12 member Arizona in the Cactus Kickoff Classic.
But Sitake is doing his best to deflect the attention from himself in this historic opener (8:30 p.m., MDT, FS1).
“I’m excited to coach for BYU and be in this position. Once we get to game day, it’s always about the players and the team. I’m excited to watch them play,” he said. “This is their team. We’ll have a lot of fans there.
