One of the main traffic routes into Salt Lake City — was closed Wednesday morning, after a car crashed into a pedestrian on 600 South near 400 West.
All five lanes of eastbound 600 South were closed due to the crash, and exits from Interstate 15 and Interstate 80 onto the road were also shut down, according to the Utah Department of Transportation. The road was blocked off until 300 West, police said.
The person who was hit — a middle-aged man who had not yet been identified by police as of 6:30 a.m. — was in “extremely critical” condition, according to Salt Lake City police Sgt.
