Four men are in custody after five convenience store robberies, a high-speed chase, a car crash and a foot chase.
According to a spokesman for the Salt Lake Police Department, the string of events began about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday when three men entered a 7-Eleven at 1285 N. Redwood Road, pistol-whipped the clerk and stole the cash from the register.
In the next two hours, a second Salt Lake 7-Eleven and three more in Magna, West Valley and South Jordan were robbed by suspects matching the description of those involved in the first robbery. In each case, guns were brandished but no one was assaulted.
