The “poly pipeline” is alive and well in Provo, as four BYU Football players were named the Polynesian player of the year award watch list.
Seniors Corbin Kaufusi, Butch Pau’u, Sione Takitaki and junior Moroni Laulu-Pututau were among the 50 players named to the watch list which is given to the “most outstanding Polynesian college football player that epitomizes great ability and integrity.”
34 different schools are represented on the list, with BYU and USC leading the way with four selections each.
Corbin, Butch and Sione are expected to anchor BYU’s front 7, while Moroni is expected to contribute at tight end after missing all of last season with a lisfranc injury.
