Can anyone get in the way of a Gonzaga-St Mary’s WCC tourney final?
With the top two seeds in the WCC safely in the NCAA tournament, the other 8 conference members will look to spoil the two top dogs in the conference.
After finishing the regular season 22-9, BYU will need to get by a tough San Diego team if they want to even get in the NIT. A loss in the first round would put BYU’s NIT chances in serious jeopardy, and a win wouldn’t necessarily secure a NIT bid, either.
BYU has shown the ability to compete with Gonzaga and St Mary’s, but a 0-4 showing against them and a 14-point loss at in the season finale versus the zags will have even the most optimistic Cougar fans admitting BYU will need a miracle if they are to pull off 3 wins in Vegas.
