10th-ranked BYU Soccer hosted rival Utah at South Field on Friday night and beat the Utes by a score of 2-0.
BYU has won 5 straight against the Utes. With the result, the Cougars are now 27-7-2 all time in the series.
The game opened with frantic pace, as it was clear the emotions of the rivalry were high. Both teams would settle in, creating chances with the Cougars having the better of the opportunities.
The Cougars would find the breakthrough in the 20th minute, as Elise Flake received a long pass and took on her defender, cutting onto her right foot before slotting a low shot into the net just between the Utah goalkeeper and her near post.
