On the third annual Stay Positive Day at Hinkle Fieldhouse, the Butler University men’s basketball team pulled through in memory of former teammate Andrew Smith and defeated St. John’s University 78-58.

Smith, 25, died on Jan. 12 after a two-year battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2014, which turned into Leukemia in November after his body rejected a bone marrow transplant.

The entire game was dedicated to Smith and his legacy.

After winning the tip, sophomore forward Tyler Wideman scored the first points of the game.
