INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s LaVall Jordan is among those being mentioned as a possible successor to John Beilein as Michigan basketball coach.
Beilein has agreed to a five-year contract with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers. On Twitter, he posted a goodbye to Michigan on Monday.
Jordan, through a Butler spokesman, declined to comment on the Michigan job.
The 40-year-old coach is a native of Michigan and was on the Wolverines’ staff for six seasons. An industry source said Jordan had a better chance of succeeding Beilein a year ago. The Bulldogs, in their first year under Jordan, were 21-14 and won their first-round NCAA tournament game in 2018.
