LAS VEGAS – No. 12 Houston blitzed Butler 17-0 in the opening six minutes and went on to a 70-52 victory Monday in college basketball’s Maui Invitational at Michelob Ultra Arena.
The Bulldogs cut a 21-point halftime deficit to 12 early in the second half before Houston re-established control.
Fabian White Jr. had 21 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars. Jair Bolden scored 16 points for Butler. Ty Groce had 10 points and seven rebounds in his first Butler start.
