INDIANAPOLIS – David Ragland is expected to be retained as an assistant coach on the Butler basketball staff, sources told IndyStar.
That would complete the trio of assistants for Thad Matta, who was announced April 3 as the Bulldogs’ new head coach.
Matta succeeded LaVall Jordan, who was fired April 1 after five seasons and a 14-19 record this year. Matta previously coached at Butler for one season, going 24-8 in 2000-01 and scoring the Bulldogs' first NCAA tournament victory in 39 years.
