Thad Matta is coming home.
The man who led Butler to a 24-win season and an NCAA tournament appearance in 2001 returns to Hinkle Fieldhouse, replacing LaVall Jordan. Matta spent three seasons at Xavier and 13 seasons at Ohio State prior to a stint as associate athletic director at IU.

Why did Thad Matta leave Ohio State
Matta coached at Ohio State from 2004-2017, winning 439 games with 13 NCAA tournament appearances and a Final Four appearances in 2007 and 2012. He left abruptly in June 2017, citing health concerns.
