When Ryan Pepiot broke Butler’s single-season strikeout record two weeks ago, one of the first phone calls he received was from the player who now ranks No. 2 on the list.
Pepiot joked that Pat Neshek “was a little upset” that his record had been smashed. But the conversation also allowed Pepiot to ask a few questions to the current Philadelphia Phillies’ reliever who is in his 13th major league season.
“It was great to get advice from him,” Pepiot said. “He knows what it’s like and what to expect.
