Butler will meet Northwestern at Hinkle Fieldhouse in the next college basketball season as part of the Gavitt Games, according to a CBS Sports report.
The Gavitt Games pair teams between the Big Ten and Big East conferences. Butler could not participate in the first year because the series coincided with the Puerto Rico Season Tip-Off.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 against Northwestern in recent seasons. They won 65-56 on Dec. 6, 2014, at Hinkle; 74-65 on Dec. 8, 2012, at Evanston (in which the late Andrew Smith scored 24 points); 67-54 on Nov.
