INDIANAPOLIS – Myles Powell showed why he is a national player of the candidate, and Seton Hall showed why it was the Big East preseason favorite.
Powell scored 29 points, and the 18th-ranked Pirates erased a 10-point halftime deficit to beat No. 5 Butler 78-70 in college basketball Wednesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
After Kamar Baldwin passed to Sean McDermott for a three-point play, the Bulldogs reclaimed a 66-65 lead with 3:48 left. Seton Hall then outscored Butler 13-4 down the stretch.
Seton Hall (13-4) became 5-0 in the Big East for the first time ever.
