OXFORD, Miss. – Kamar Baldwin and the Butler Bulldogs took out a lot of frustration Tuesday night.
On road failures. On the SEC. On lingering skeptics.
Baldwin scored 31 points, and the 24th-ranked Bulldogs shot 51% in beating Mississippi 67-58 to extend their start to 8-0.
Butler was 1.5-point underdog.
Baldwin is from SEC country — Winder, Georgia — and showed what the SEC is missing. He shot 11-of-16 from the field, 4-of-5 on 3-pointers and 5-of-5 on free throws. He added five rebounds and three assists.
Baldwin, MVP of the Hall of Fame Classic, has scored 48 points in Butler’s last 49 minutes played.
