INDIANAPOLIS – Jordan Cornette’s weekly talks with Kentucky coach John Calipari have led to a new outreach by the Joel Cornette Foundation.
Jordan Cornette, an ESPN sportscaster, said partnering with the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI) is a way to honor the legacy of his late brother, Joel, the former Butler basketball player. Joel’s famous “We Are Still Here” statement underscored how he believed in the Bulldogs before anyone else.
Joel Cornette died four years ago Sunday (Aug. 16). He was 35.
“He was all about inclusivity, lifting that next person, being for the underdog — all those things,” Jordan Cornette said.
