Kelan Martin might not become Butler’s first basketball All-American in nearly a half-century. But those who most often witness him – coaches in the Big East – have recognized what he has done.
Martin was announced Sunday as one of three unanimous selections to the All-Big East team, as voted by conference coaches. The other unanimous picks, Villanova guard Jalen Brunson and Xavier forward Trevon Bluiett, are in every conversation for All-America selection.
TV analyst Jordan Cornette has said Martin deserves to be Big East co-Player of the Year with Bluiett, a Park Tudor graduate.
