INDIANAPOLIS – It is too early to characterize the Butler Bulldogs as the Obi Wan Kenobi of the Big East: the league’s only hope.
It is not too early to assert that Butler, and its conference colleagues, could use a boost.
For the first time since the Big East was reconfigured in 2013, the league has zero teams in college basketball’s Top 25. The two in the preseason Top 25 – Villanova and Marquette – were blown out in the Gavitt Games by Michigan and Indiana, respectively.
