Insider: Kelan Martin, hot offense once again pace Butler

Chris Holtmann is right. I know he is right. Butler fans know he is right. Anyone following college basketball closely knows he is right.

Butler cannot, should not, must not continue offering so little resistance on defense.

“It’s fool’s gold if you don’t figure out how to stop people on a consistent basis,” Holtmann said.

And yet … the Bulldogs remain golden on offense. Bright, shiny gold. On a day in which they started 0-of-8 from the field and top scorer Kellen Dunham was 3-of-13, they nearly reached 100 points.

No. 18 Butler overcame a 10-point deficit to beat Tennessee 94-86 before a sellout of 9,100 Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
