INDIANAPOLIS – On this night, it was Joey Brunk. A week ago, Paul Jorgensen and Henry Baddley. Next game? Sean McDermott or Nate Fowler, perhaps.

Trying to identify Butler’s most valuable player after Kamar Baldwin is going to be pointless in this college basketball season. Points will be spread around, and it’s not all about points anyway.

“I think it plays itself out,” Butler coach LaVall Jordan said. “All of our guys are capable and have opportunities to show it. I don’t know what the other teams’ plan will be, night to night.
