Insider: Butler's NCAA tourney hopes on shaky ground

MILWAUKEE – Kellen Dunham stated what all Butler basketball fans are thinking.

“If we continue to do the same thing over and over,” he said, “we’re asking not to play in March.”

What the Bulldogs have done over and over is play Big East teams close on the road … and lose. Saturday’s 75-69 defeat at Marquette was their third in a row away from Hinkle Fieldhouse.

In all three – Providence, Creighton and Marquette – the Bulldogs had a chance to win in the closing two minutes. They were 12-6 in the Big East last season because they won such games.
