INDIANAPOLIS – Detroit Mercy was letting Butler’s Bulldogs have all the post-Halloween candy they could grab. As enticing as it was, all that sugar is neither satisfying nor nourishing.
So the Bulldogs switched from a diet of 3-pointers and pulled away for an 84-63 victory Monday night in college basketball before a crowd of 7,741 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Kamar Baldwin led Butler in points (26), rebounds (eight) and assists (six).
The game was an Indiana homecoming for Detroit’s Mike Davis, who coached IU’s Hoosiers from 2000-06 and led them to the '02 NCAA championship game.
