Insider: 3 straight losses — all to Top 25 teams — will test Butler's resolve

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s Big East gauntlet had the makings of an 0-5 beginning. If you had asked fans if they would have accepted 2-3 through five games, many would have.

And that’s exactly where the Bulldogs are after falling behind by 18 points and losing at No. 22 Creighton 85-74 Tuesday night at Omaha, Neb.

The thing is, there was hope for so much more after the Bulldogs beat No. 1 Villanova for a 2-0 league start. Three successive losses, all to Top 25 opponents, will further test a team that has shown resolve.

What the Bulldogs (12-6, 2-3) need to do is show up early.
