INDIANAPOLIS – A lingering foot injury is keeping Kamar Baldwin off the USA Basketball team that will play in the Pan American Games.
The Big East partnered with USA Basketball to choose a team, which was announced Tuesday. Former Butler center Tyler Wideman and Bulldogs senior Sean McDermott were among 15 players selected for training camp, where a cut will be made to 12.
The Big East is the first conference to represent USA Basketball at a Pan American Games.
The team will be led by All-Big East guard Myles Powell of Seton Hall, although there are notable omissions besides Baldwin.
