INDIANAPOLIS – Wofford beat 2020 Big East favorite Seton Hall in the NCAA basketball tournament eight months ago and came into Saturday night’s game with 38 3-pointers in three games.
Against the Terriers, the Bulldogs knew it would be, well, a dogfight.
So far, the evidence is that these Dawgs have more defensive fight than they did last season.
After Wofford pulled within 10 points in the second half, Butler made seven consecutive defensive stops and shot 55% in pulling away for an 80-61 victory at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The victory, part of the Hall of Fame Classic that culminates at Kansas City, Missouri, lifted Butler to 4-0.
