CARMEL – John-Michael Mulloy is the Shane Battier of high school basketball. He is a no-stats all-star.
You don’t need to understand analytics, something Battier popularized with how he influenced NBA teams beyond the box scores. Mulloy leads Carmel in points (14.3), rebounds (8.9) and assists (2.5) per game. Not much there.
Yet understand this: Carmel reached the state championship game last year, is ranked No. 1 this year and is 28-2 over 30 games.
