INDIANAPOLIS – His New Jersey parents put him on a train bound for Indianapolis, a city he had never seen. Henry “Hank” Foster was on track to a new sport, a new life and Butler University history.
The contributions of Foster, the first Black basketball player in the Bulldogs’ history, will be recognized Saturday ahead of the Big East game against No. 19 Marquette at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Foster died in 2020 at age 84.
