INDIANAPOLIS – Carlos “Scooby” Johnson, the former Butler basketball player awaiting trial on charges of rape and sexual battery, has been arrested in Michigan on three additional charges.
Berrien County court records show Johnson was arrested Jan. 23 on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resisting arrest and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. The case is headed to district court Thursday.
The 6-6 Johnson, of Benton Harbor, is now 20. He was Michigan’s Mr. Basketball in 2020, averaging 25 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and three blocks per game.
He did not play during his freshman season at Butler after knee surgery.
