Efficient offense, stiff defense... Butler puts Big East 'on notice'

Butler defeated DePaul, 80-57 David Woods/IndyStar

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler has put Big East basketball teams “on notice.” DePaul coach Dave Leitao says so anyway.

The Bulldogs have won four in a row by an average margin of 20 points. They have limited three 20-point scorers — St. John's Shamorie Ponds (two), Marquette's Andrew Rowsey (zero) and DePaul's Max Strus (seven) — to nine points over three games. Kelan Martin had twice that total (19) in the first half Saturday.

A couple of weeks ago, the Bulldogs were 42nd in kenpom.
