Butler coach LaVall Jordan recalls how Joel Cornette boosted the Bulldogs' confidence as it rose in the NCAA. David Woods/IndyStar
DETROIT – Kelan Martin didn’t just happen. Players like this, they never do. All those points gloss over the work that went into each one of them, and to date there have been 1,991 points as a Bulldog. Doesn’t feel like I’m going out on a limb to say Martin, a 6-7 senior forward, will become Butler’s third 2,000-point scorer when the 10th-seeded Bulldogs play seventh-seeded Arkansas in their NCAA tournament opener Friday.
