Doyel: Kamar Baldwin and Butler basketball destroy Chris Mullin’s overmatched team

INDIANAPOLIS – Shamorie Ponds is St. John’s best player, one of the top scorers in the Big East and a big reason for the row of NBA scouts Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse for Butler’s game against St. John’s.

The NBA scouts didn’t see much from Ponds.

Because Kamar Baldwin destroyed him.

And with Ponds destroyed, St. John’s fell 70-45 to Butler, fell like the condemned building it has become under third-year coach Chris Mullin. We’ll return soon to Mullin, the former Indiana Pacers guard. Even though there isn’t much there … there’s a lot there. You’ll see.
