INDIANAPOLIS – A boy grows up in Kentucky, the oldest of three kids, the son of an alcoholic father. The boys sees the bottles of scotch, empty. He sees his mother dumping them outside, but there will be more the next day, always more. A boy grows up in Kentucky without a lot of hope.
A boys grows up in Virginia. Same boy. The family has moved. They will move eight times before he turns 18. He will live in seven different states because his old man can’t hold down a job, and every day is hard, but some are worse than others.
