Chuck Harris scored 20 points and Jayden Taylor 12, and Butler shot 53% to hold off University of Indianapolis 73-68 in a college basketball exhibition before a crowd of 6,986 Friday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
UIndy had lost 82-46 Monday at No. 17 Ohio State and 86-64 Thursday at No. 7 Purdue.
Butler opens the season next week with home games Tuesday against IUPUI, Friday against Central Arkansas and Saturday against Troy.
Harris, a sophomore, missed Saturday’s 94-84 win over Tiffin because of an unspecified violation of team rules.
