The Boston Celtics’ quest for a record 18th NBA championship will continue without Gordon Hayward.
The Celtics announced Tuesday that the Brownsburg native and former Butler forward is expected to miss the next four weeks of the playoffs because of a Grade III sprain of his right ankle.
Hayward was injured Monday night late in the Celtics’ victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of a first-round Eastern Conference series at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He rolled his ankle when he landed on the foot of teammate Daniel Theis while trying to pull down a rebound over 76ers center Joel Embid.
