INDIANAPOLIS – Carmel’s John Michael Mulloy has become the first Butler basketball recruit for new coach LaVall Jordan.
Mulloy, a 6-9 center/forward heading into his junior season, announced Wednesday night on Twitter that he has committed to the Bulldogs. Jordan has yet to receive a commitment for Butler's 2018 recruiting class, but 2019 now has one entry.
Mulloy is not nationally ranked by any of the major recruiting websites. He had not been offered a scholarship by any Power Six conference schools until Butler did so on Aug. 28. He held offers from Miami of Ohio, Tulsa and Toledo.
