GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Butler’s wildly inconsistent college basketball season continued Saturday.
The Bulldogs fell behind 21-0 and were crushed by Florida 77-43 at Exactech Arena.
It was Butler’s worst loss in 187 games, dating to an 84-52 defeat at VCU on March 2, 2013. Florida led 43-18 at halftime, and Butler needed the entire game to score 43 points.
This was the same Florida team that lost to Butler 61-54 on Nov. 23 at Paradise Island, Bahamas.
The outcome ended Butler’s streak of five straight wins over Southeastern Conference opponents and extended its road losing streak to five.
